"Should I stay or Should I go"

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. School started back up again and its been pretty stressful and busy! Lately, I have been really thinking about an internship. For my major, we have to do an internship at the end of our program in order to graduate. My internship won't be until next winter semester but I am already gettting pretty stressed out with trying to figure out where I want to go.

I know that I want to work with Youth of somesort. I thought about Center for Change, that is where Missy, my cousins wife works or worked. It was hearing about what she did that made me decide to do this major in the first place. So, that was my original plan for an internship but then as time has gone by I started realizing all these different places that would work as well.

Now, I just feel so overwhelmed by all these places! And should I stay in Provo, or venture out into the world. There are therapeutic recreation places all over the United States. Maybe it is time that I truly grow up and go on my own. I still feel that Provo has been a protective bubble for me. Even though, I live in an apartment far away from home, it still feels as if I don't really live on my own. It would be great to go have some great experiences, live outside my comfort zone and grow up a little. But where to do that, I just don't know.

Yet at the same time, Provo has been great for social reasons. I feel that it is the best place for me to meet and befriend people who have the same beliefs that I do. And I am planning on living with a group of girls next year that I am really excited to live with. So, I have some great perks with staying here, and most likely that will end up being what I will do.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts!

  2. Hey Tiare!
Believe it or not, I feel ya. Moving to San Antonio is the gutsiest thing I have ever done in my life. And I feel like this is the first time I have really "moved out" even though I've lived in Provo for a year and a half. And maybe my opinion shouldn't be trusted since I've only been here a month, but I'm really glad I did this. I've had to discover what is really important to me and how I can achieve that in a totally different environment.
So go for it! Provo is lovely, but don't rule out going somewhere else. You will know what is right when the time comes.
    Best of luck! :)

  3. I think you need an internship in Austin!!! BTW, when your post was emailed to me, it didn't have a title for some reason, so I had a suggestion: "Should I Stay, or Should I Go" by The Clash :-)

  4. Rachelle, I actually have been looking at places in Texas! I think it would be so fun to be with you! I saw one place that was about two hours away from you, but I bet there are some places right in Austin! :) Also, great name choice, I am changing the title right now!

Chantel, I think you talking about your move to San Antonio was what got me thinking about moving out in the first place. Before that it was a for sure I was staying in Provo. But then when you moved there, that is when I was starting wanting to do that. I am glad to hear that you are really enjoying it there!

Jess! I miss you and we need to hang out more no matter what!
