"That's Amore"

About a week ago, my roommates and I participated in a cook off.  It was my apartment with Seth and Mike versus the apartment five girls and Robbie and Drake.  It was funny seeing how my team was filled up with people who don't really cook versus the team that was filled with practically professional cooks. Of course we had to have legit judges for this cookoff, so we asked the Willhites and Edward to be our judges. Boy oh boy were they legit.

It was a four course meal: Appetizer, Soup/Salad, Main Course and Dessert

For our appetizer we made artichoke egg rolls which ended up being the hit of the night.  They even were compared to the ones at Cheesecake factory. Thanks Seth for that contribution!

Our Soup and Salad was a Chilled Strawberry soup and a spinach salad with Mandarin Oranges.

Main course was a stuff pork tenderloin, with almond asparagus, and cheesy ranch mashed potatoes.

Dessert, Chocolate Crepes with Bananas on the inside and a scoop of ice cream on the side.  To top it off a drizzle of homemade chocolate sauce.

It was a tough battle but sadly my team lost. :( Only by a point or two though, so I feel pretty good about it since the skill levels were so different.

Love Crepes.
In other news, my official training for the Marathon starts TODAY!!! I made the schedule and I plan on following it EXACTLY. And of course with my luck, I have a 19 mile run when I am on a cruise and a 20 mile run on my BIRTHDAY! I sure know how to plan it! Oh well, it is what needs to be done to make sure I don't die in this Marathon.  Happy Training!

"Celebrate Good Times!"

I love being a little kid.  There I said it! I am not ashamed of it either.  Yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr. day and even though it didn't change anything for me since my internship schedule is Tuesday through Saturday but it did mean that everyone else was home as well!

So, I decided that I wanted to celebrate the holiday by building a fort, luckily Thomas seemed pretty okay with that idea as well... and so were his roommates! After lots of yelling, screaming, laughing, blankets falling, lamps falling, laughing, chairs getting put on tables to be used just to never end up getting used, couches being flip over, laughing, and many different renovations, we finally had our fort built! Boy oh boy was it a great fort!

To make things even better, we watched The Help inside the fort! Of course after watching The Help, we had to go get Fried Chicken... or just chicken nuggets from Chic-fil-A. What a great Holiday!

The Final production! What a great Fort! Only lived for a few short hours.

"Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down"

Well, this past weekend I have been pretty sick and that for sure has not been fun.  I pretty much just slept and laid on the couch all day Saturday and Sunday.  I am finally starting to feel better today! I think by tomorrow I should be good! Even though it made for not the best weekend, at least I didn't have to worry about missing my internship or not feeling so well at my internship.

Taken with my lovely cell phone....
On the plus side, I had this guy all weekend taking care of me! He brought me chicken noodle soup, watched chick flick movies with me, and just sat around with me all day.  I don't think I could ask for anything more!

In other news, I started my internship.  It definitely is going to be a really good learning experience for me and I feel by the end I will be ready to enter the real world and get a job! It also will be very hard and I am nervous about that but I think it will be great! I have already learned a lot just being there for the past three days.  I am excited to see what the rest of the semester has for me! It is crazy to think that in just four months, I will be a college graduate!
