"I want to ride my Bicycle"

Ginelle and I started a new tradition, every Presidents Day, we have a huge bike ride to Utah Lake. We started this one year ago and it was a small group. Just five of us, but we loved it so much! So this year, we decided to turn it into a tradition and we invited anyone who wanted to come. We made it a facebook event and everything so that way we would have more people!

It was great, we rode our bikes to Utah Lake and then walked on Utah Lake since it is still frozed over!

Here is everyone walking or riding their bikes on the lake.

I don't know why but I thought this was a cool shot. Its my friend Corey just chillin on the dock.

Erin (Sam's Sister) , Sam(my sister-in-law), and me on the ice

Getting ready for the bike ride!

Laci testing out a bike she might possibly buy. I am all for her buying the bike, I think that bike is awesome and she would love it!

Corey with his bike.

Jon and Michelle

Sam and Erin

Overall, I thought it was a great first major bike ride of the year! It was pretty nice, a little cold by the end, but no snow! It was amazing! I love my bike rides!

"Come Together Right Now"

We had a relief society retreat this past weekend which was amazing!

We had Brother Brad Wilcox come speak to us for the fireside on Friday night. The words he mentioned really helped me a lot. He talked about how Christ is always with us, that with him we are able to do so much. That Heavenly Father loves us and he focuses on us. He knows that we are trying our best and he knows that sometimes we may fall but he loves us for who we are. Jesus Christ will climb the mountain with us.

He said that we as women tend to think that we need to be perfect all the time, but its okay if we are not going at 100 mph every day. It is okay, if we slow down a little bit. It reminded me of the quote, "You are doing better than you think you are" We tend to think that we are failing if we are not perfect, but that isn't true. We are growing and as long as we are progressing towards our Heavenly Father, then we are okay. Heavenly Father LOVES US! It was such an amazing fireside.

On Saturday morning we had three workshops and we talked about being unified with our self, unified with others and unified with our Heavenly Father. In the workshop my bishop did he showed this video. This video is an example of the goodness we all have in our hearts. It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch this video. I love it so much! It is very inspiring and encouraging.

Enjoy!

"Can you feel the Love tonight"

Well, yesterday was Valentines Day. Every year, I am never sure how I feel about this holiday. I sometimes love it like last year. At work, we all made little bags a couple days before and then that Friday we all brought in the little kid Valentines and delivered them in each others baggies. It was just like Elementary School, I love it so much!
This year, we didn't do that and I was a little sad about this but I survived. I woke up in the morning to a lovely surprise. Every girls door in my ward had recieved a valentines card to each girl in the apartment and then a napkin folded into a flower with it. Each card said something nice about the girl. That was a great surprise!
Classes were normal and so was work. After work, I found that a Banana bread valentine had been left for me. I don't know who did it but if you are reading this, thank you! It made my day! It was a great Valentine to receive!
Then I rode my bike yesterday for the first time in about five months! It felt great to be back with Mellow Yellow! He and I have missed each other these past months and I am sure he was feeling lonely and cold during the winter. So, I am glad the weather cleared up so I could spend time with my one true love, Mellow Yellow!
At FHE we did a great activity. We each wrote down on two different notecards service activities. Then placed them in a hat and played spin the bottle. Whoever the bottle landed on pulled out a card and that was the service that they have to do this week. We each pulled out two. I think it was a great idea and I am excited to do the ones that I pulled out, which are make pastries for someone and make a homecooked meal. So tonight, I am going to make dinner for my friends!
After FHE I went to dinner with some of my bestest friends! Of course, there was two couples and then Corey and me, but we had a great time.
Happy Valentines Day!

I am obsessed with the Kim Anderson photos. Two of these aren't but in the spirit of Valentines Day I had to put some of these pictures up! So cute!

"They call me Mellow Yellow"

I did it! I finally decided on a favorite color.... well, at least I think I did.

Are you ready for what it is..........

YELLOW!!!!

I have realized that I am naturally drawn to the color yellow. My dream house that I want is going to be yellow.

My bike is yellow.

I really want a pair of yellow vans.

I love my yellow earrings.

I want a yellow sun dress

I have been told that I look pretty good in yellow. Which is good because a lot of my bridesmaid dresses have been yellow!

I was looking at someone's wedding pictures admiring the yellow that she had as one of her colors. Yellow and gray.... so cute!

Anyway, I still have doubts but at the moment I feel that my favorite color is yellow and I am happy to finally have made this important decision in my life!

"Should I stay or Should I go"

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. School started back up again and its been pretty stressful and busy! Lately, I have been really thinking about an internship. For my major, we have to do an internship at the end of our program in order to graduate. My internship won't be until next winter semester but I am already gettting pretty stressed out with trying to figure out where I want to go.

I know that I want to work with Youth of somesort. I thought about Center for Change, that is where Missy, my cousins wife works or worked. It was hearing about what she did that made me decide to do this major in the first place. So, that was my original plan for an internship but then as time has gone by I started realizing all these different places that would work as well.

Now, I just feel so overwhelmed by all these places! And should I stay in Provo, or venture out into the world. There are therapeutic recreation places all over the United States. Maybe it is time that I truly grow up and go on my own. I still feel that Provo has been a protective bubble for me. Even though, I live in an apartment far away from home, it still feels as if I don't really live on my own. It would be great to go have some great experiences, live outside my comfort zone and grow up a little. But where to do that, I just don't know.

Yet at the same time, Provo has been great for social reasons. I feel that it is the best place for me to meet and befriend people who have the same beliefs that I do. And I am planning on living with a group of girls next year that I am really excited to live with. So, I have some great perks with staying here, and most likely that will end up being what I will do.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts!

Go the Distance

Well, its official! I am doing a half marathon again! I had some problems with running last semester due to some pretty bad shin splints but I feel that those are now gone and I can begin again!

Last year, my dad did it with me which was amazing! It was a really cool daddy/daughter bonding experience! Plus, I ran so much better when I was with my dad, something about running with him helps me to believe that I can keep going. Even when I felt like 13.1 miles was a crazy amount to run and there was no way I would be able to do that, when I was running with him I felt like I could!

This year, my dad is once again doing it with me but Rachelle is also running it with us! We have all signed up so there is no turning back now! I am so excited to be able to do it with her this year as well!

I started running again yesterday. Pretty entertaining experience as I tried to run outside. Sidewalks were completely covered in bumpy icy snow so it was an interesting experience to have my first run after a long break be! Even though it was bumpy and scary, it felt so good to be running again!

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind?"

Since 2010 is coming to an end, I decided to go back and look at all the pictures I had from this year. It is crazy to think that some of the events and moments in my life that feel as if they were years ago really were just in this year. So, I decided to have some fun and I made collages of all my favorite pictures/moments from each month. I started out by doing two months together but I have way too many pictures for that!

I had a lot of firsts this year! It was a great year! Thanks 2010 for being wonderful.... Welcome 2011!

January and February I first learned how to snowboard. I made it to the final four in the Mario Kart competition, won first place with Collin in the Wards Valentines Date party, went on a great and cold bike ride to Utah lake!
March: I ran my first 5k. I went to the Festival of Colors for my first time as well, where my friend Spencer kissed a llama(yep, that was a first as well!). Planned a great but stressful surprise birthday party for Shelbi!

April: Shane graduated and I helped him with his proposal to Sam. I also went to my first Military ball with Troy. Some great adventures happened with Ginelle and Shelbi at the ward closing party which ended up with me in the river. Lesson learned: some logs float and when you step on them, they sink!

May: My brother Colby married Neeha and this was the first time that my family (just siblings and parents) had been together in four years! It also was my 21st birthday! Also, it was my first time ever trying to sleep on a roof.... however at about 4 in the morning, we gave up!

June: Ran my first ever Half Marathon with my dad! And I survived to tell the tale! Immediately after that I spend two weeks in Arizona with my family and part of that I went with my mom, sister and Gigi with the little ones to Disneyland!

July: Way to much happened in July! I had to delete a lot of pictures that I wanted to be in the collage! I took a fun trip with friends for the fourth of July, we went to McCall which is where Ginelle is from. It was my first time ever getting pulled over by the lake cops and my first time for having cops get mad at me because I do not drink.... interesting. I was on my first intramural team, softball. Never had played softball before in my life but I loved it! Also, I was a part of the Worlds Largest Water Balloon fight. And a daily activity in July for us was bike rides! I also went to my first professional soccer game, The ReAL soccer game.

August: Shane married Sam in August! This was the first time that my entire family, grandkids involved this time, had been together in four years! Also, Ginelle and I cheered on Brad's first Triathlon, which of course he rocked it!

September: School starting again didn't immediately stop my outdoor adventures. I went to Zions twice this month, which was the first time I had ever really been to Zions and hiked. The first hike I did was Orderville and then the second one was The Subway. Both were amazing hikes and both required swimming in the freezing cold water. I am hoping to go to Zions again in 2011! I also had a chance to be on two more intramural teams, flag football and kickball. Neither had I really played before but I think I actually got to be decent at both!

October: I went to the ReAL soccer game again with my brother this time. Since I was activities co-chair I had a little bit of a stressful time planning the Halloween party but I think it turned out to be a huge success. Even though we had the stress of maybe not having any kind of power but that got fixed an hour before the party started! The first snowfall happened and of course we had a little snowball fight with that!
November: I got to go home for the first time for Thanksgiving. Shane, Sam and I drove home and Ryan flew from Texas. So we got to have a nice Thanksgiving at home. I went shooting for the first time in my life during that break. We spent every night in the Hot Tub and of course did some Polar Bear jumps.

December: Once again, we had another huge party but I felt it went really well again! It was was our Christmas party and even though we had a low budget, we managed to get a nice dinner and have the Math Lab only look semi like a math lab! I went to my first Professional basketball game, the Jazz game. I also had a chance to look the Salt Lake Temple lights and watch the Joseph Smith Movie in Salt Lake.
